OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for the technical implementation and upkeep of the instrumentation, electrical systems, and controls in the Eagle Ford asset. The engineer must manage inputs from mechanical and process design, HES, and operational inputs and synthesize that information into tangible projects and actions for the Facilities & Construction team. This role is highly involved in the development of construction scopes and documentation for new, upgraded, and changing facilities in the basin. The projects the position is accountable for are inclusive of new power connections, power design, controls design, and associated equipment specification and ordering with our Global Supply Chain groups.
RESPONSIBILITIES
*Promote Marathon's culture of safety and environmental stewardship. *Support efforts to develop and maintain a process safety culture through Management of Change, Hazard Analysis, and Project Documentation. *Develop electrical, instrument, and control work scopes for facilities projects including new production sites, retrofits, and infrastructure. *Emphasis on developing standard controls documentation across the asset such as Cause & Effect, Input/Output mapping, and other programming needs. *Responsible for researching, specifying, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting field instrumentation and process control equipment for facilities projects. *Work with vendors and Global Supple Chain to coordinate the purchase and delivery of materials and equipment. *Work with I&E team to identify and recommend changes to instrument, control processes, and equipment to improve cost/quality/schedule associated with related projects. *Interface with Electricians, I&E Technicians, SCADA team, Construction teams, and Engineering teams. *Support I&E and controls Functional Check-Out (FCO) post-construction before new facilities are commissioned. *Project Management for Instrument and Control specific projects. *Ensure compliance of I&E/C systems with Marathon Corporate and Industry standards.
*Inclusive of Arc Flash and other required studies and periodic reviews
*Stay abreast of industry developments within the technical area of responsibility. *Coordinate with the Operations and Engineering to ensure the engineering design provides for lessons learned and continuity across the organization and also meets the needs of the end-users. *Develop and evaluate proposals for new project opportunities. *Support mentoring and coaching activities by sharing knowledge throughout the organization. *Travel to various field locations as required: ~25%

QUALIFICATIONS:
*10+ years of Electrical/Instrumentation/Controls experience *Bachelors' degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering preferred *Knowledge of power system design and troubleshooting, MCC design and local distribution experience preferred *Knowledge of RTU design, programming, and troubleshooting, ROC and PLC experience preferred *Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, management, and internal/external contacts *Adaptive computer and technology skills (the ability to learn and effectively utilize new software or technologies to aid in optimizing or understanding processes) *Familiarity with Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) *Ability to create and update I/O (input/output) list, wiring diagrams, electrical one line diagrams, electrical load lists, instrumentation lists, cable schedules, MCC/distribution and instrument panel layouts, P&IDs, and plot plans *Advanced knowledge of installation and operations troubleshooting for specified I&E equipment. I.e. pressure/temperature/flow instrumentation, RTUs, and telemetry *Advanced knowledge of ROC 107s and 800s and associated controls/programs, including ability to design and implement new functionality *Preferred experience and knowledge of various PLCs, including Allen Bradly ControlLogix
