Employee acting in conjunction with supervision or individually as directed by supervision will assist and/or direct the training of other employees in the correct operating procedures necessary to fully satisfy the classification duties of Gas Regulatory Mechanic B and all lower classifications within the subject line of progression or other duties with which the employee is familiar.3. Employee will, when directed by supervision, report to assigned locations for the purpose of receiving training and will actively participate in the training activities.4. Employee will exhibit an adequate competency level pertaining to activities delineated in the Duties and Qualifications sections of this job classification. Demonstrate such competency via performance of job duties and training and testing programs administered at intervals prescribed by Louisville Gas and Electric to assure correct classification of employees.5. Employee will, during the normal performance of his duties, watch for and promptly report to supervision any damaged or defective equipment or conditions which may cause damage or injury.6. Employee will perform duties of lower or higher classifications that are incidental to the job and are within his/her capabilities including those needed for the purpose of training in the requirements of the higher classifications.7. Employee will keep all equipment, tools, materials, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.8. Employee will report as directed to any facility for any shift where needed.9. Employee will perform work in a responsible and cooperative manner to facilitate a positive working environment.10. Employee will compile information and generate reports, forms and documents as required.11. Employee will represent the Company to the community with attention to the highest standard of conduct, appearance and attitude.12. Employee performs other duties as directed by management. Specific Duties may include, but are not limited to: 1. Employee will perform all the duties of Gas Regulatory Helper.2. Employee will perform and assist others in the performance of pipeline inspections, including learning the various rules and regulations pertaining to these duties.3. Employee will inspect, test and investigate condition of pipe and/or pipe coating to determine condition with relation to various rules and regulations.4. Employee will perform corrosion surveys and associated tests.5. Employee will perform and assist others in the performance of turn-ons and turn-offs on customer services, including electric if required.6. Employee will test customer piping for leaks including soap testing exposed piping and locating and probing for gas leaks.7. Employee will perform and assist others in investigating, answering, and correcting all types of gas service complaints.8. Employee will use various instruments such as, but not limited to, pipeline locators, metal detectors, voltmeters, combustible gas indicators, and leak survey equipment.9. Employee will locate, inspect, lubricate, operate, maintain, and repair as needed gas valves (including transmission, distribution, and service valves of various sizes and types.)10. Employee will conduct and assist in the leak survey process by conducting audits and other follow up functions to which he is assigned.11. Employee will conduct and assist in the stop box inspection process by conducting audits and other follow up functions to which he is assigned.12. Employee will operate and maintain equipment such as, but not limited to, vacuum excavators, valve operators, lubricant applicators, and compressors that are used in the area.13. Employee will develop and maintain a current working knowledge of the gas systems, maps, and records of the areas to which he/she is assigned.14. Employee will conduct and record results of routine leak surveys (including leak classification) and tests, as directed, to maintain the safe operation of the gas system.15. Employee will maintain adequate supplies on Company vehicles.16. Employee will contact and advise customers of work involving their service or property in a manner to ensure a positive customer experience.,
