We are looking for early career software engineers to join our teams of experts working on:
Dynamic Positioning (DP) enables a vessel to maintain a predetermined heading and position, fixed or moving with tolerances as little as a meter or two for positioning and one or two degrees for heading. Additionally, the DP system provides predictive information to operators to enable effective decisions that help ensure safety and efficiency of the operation.
GE Power Conversion's Visor solution allows for real time remote monitoring of assets by GE experts based anywhere in the world allowing for an increased response time when it is needed the most.
Job Description
The mission of our Full Stack Software Developer role is maintaining and taking the relevant system/product to the next generation.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Specify and implement new developments to expand the capability of the relevant existing product/system and associated tools, for continuous improvement and/or simplification.
Modernisation and porting of existing functionality to new platforms and/or operating systems as required. Support discussions with stakeholders to map out the future strategy for the relevant system/product.
Build Cyber Security into the relevant system by following industry standard procedures.
Prototype/refactor frontend and backend services with microservices architecture and time-series DB such as Kafka/Cassandra.
Investigation of complex issues reported on the relevant systems/products in operation. Provide support for project, commissioning, and service teams worldwide.
To succeed in this role you will need
A degree or equivalent in computer science, maths.
Practical experience in several of the following technologies: of C/C , C#, .Net, Javascript, WPF or WCF.
Experience in full stack development - frontend, backend with microservices architecture
A general understanding of Cyber security standards such as IEC62443
Experience in databases such as SQLite, Postgres or similar
Experience on working in automation/control or a similar technical discipline would be good to have.
A good understanding of overall SDLC.
Experience with Agile SW development methodologies for e.g., Scrum, Sprints, Iterative development.
Knowledge of with branching/tagging/release processes in GIT or similar.
An understanding of Continuous Integration builds and deployment process using CI tool like for example: Bamboo, Jenkins.
Experience using tools like Jira (or similar Sprint Tasks and Issue tracking tool).
Experience using Confluence (or similar internal wiki) for implementation documentation, test cases, test reports, any other knowledge sharing tools.
