**Job Description Summary**
The Lead Quality Engineer - APQP will be responsible for overall cost of quality, and its input/impact on shop metrics around delivery, inventory and cost. They will be responsible for driving manufacturing quality improvements (yield, losses, MRB) through APQP deliverables in the Asheville, NC Rotating Parts value stream.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
Full part ownership from a Quality Engineer perspective for critical rotating part hardware. Own and drive quality metrics including scrap, rework, process stability/control, FPY, output/delinquency, inventory, etc.
Responsible for Measurement System Analysis, First Article Inspection and Control Plan phases of APQP.
Key contributor for all other phases of APQP.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
**Required Qualifications**
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing)
3 years of experience in manufacturing

Previous industry experience in APQP
Familiarity with driving quality improvements through process capability.
Previous quality systems experience with AS9100/ISO9001.
Previous manufacturing machining experience and/or familiarity with GD&T.
