**Job Description Summary**
The Senior Engineer Product Safety will be responsible for evaluating design safety and ensuring potential personnel and environmental hazards are mitigated. This involvement is throughout the entire product life cycle, including conducting reviews as part of the design process and tracking resolution of field issues.

**Essential Responsibilities:**
Facilitate and support product safety risk assessments for new and existing (installed base equipment) units.
Drive resolution of safety critical items by documenting investigation details and working together with the management and turbine design teams to ensure completion of actions items.
Act as a focal point for product safety issues for a product segment, manage communication to executive segment management, and compile and track safety metrics.
Facilitate Containment, Root cause, Corrective / Preventative Action identification and Corrective / Preventative Action Implementation for product safety concerns by working together with cross-functional teams representing Fleet Support Engineering, Design Engineering, Regional Fleet Reliability Operations, EHS, Legal, Supplier Quality, Sourcing, and Chief Engineers Office
Facilitate cross-functional Safety Program Management Teams to actively drive the execution of the GE Renewable Energy Product Safety process.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of Product Safety methods and processes.
Act as a mentor and coach to junior colleagues.
**Required Qualifications:**
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university / college
Minimum of 5 years of advanced experience in Product Safety or Wind turbine design in one of the following 4 areas:
electrical wind turbine components
nacelle / drive train
structural stability / tower
blade / composites
