Essential Responsibilities:
The Project Director is fully responsible and accountable on the following activities
Project Execution Strategy: Based on the contract, develops and implements the overall strategy for the execution of the project in order to achieve the project performance goals.
Communication: represents GE towards the customer; controls and manages this interface and relationship. Manages the internal and external communication loop.
Project Organization: Sets up and secures the necessary resources for the execution of the project. Organizes the project team and ensures that the team members have clearly identified roles, responsibilities, defined interfaces and are empowered within their scope of duties.
Performance Management: Constantly monitors and if requested reports the necessary key performances indicators (KPI). Takes immediately all necessary actions and decisions to guarantee financial, time, quality and safety performance to maximize project goals achievements.
Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Management: Establishes, implements and monitors the Project Quality Plan, Procedures, EHS Plan. Ensures best compliance with specification at lowest final cost.
Claim Management: Defines strategy for managing claims, and directs actions accordingly. Addresses claims by deciding on actions and leading them in consideration of the defined strategy.
Risk and Opportunities: Defines a Risk Management Plan. Constantly updates and reviews the risk and opportunities of the Project. Evaluates and decides on actions that benefit the overall performance of the Project. Follows-up these actions implementation and results.
Project Process: Assumes full responsibility for the project through Hand Over from Sales until all obligations are complete at FAC and/or Hand Over to Service Sector (if applicable). Takes necessary actions to improve the overall project process. Also provides feedback to Sales and other Business Functions on the performance of the Project and processes.
People Management: Builds, leads and coaches a committed Project team that guarantees the highest-level performance for the Project. Defines Project goals and objectives, evaluates performance against them and provides performance evaluation and development plans to the functional management.
Project Planning: Develops and monitors the Master Time Schedule, manages Project float to ensure timely completion of the Project
The Project Manager controls and monitors the following:
All KPI’s of the project, such as Gross/Net Margin, On Time Delivery, Cash-Flow, project risk- and contingency development
Customer Contact
Process performance
Suppliers, Contractors
The Project Manager informs, consults, agrees with the Business Management and (if required) the local Unit Management and/or Function Management the following actions relating to:
Business Management:
Actions/incidents that have a significant impact on the overall performance of the business or/and GE’s reputation
Local/Functional Management:
Salary and performance reviews
Resource Management and development of the Project Team
The Project Manager participates in:
Contract negotiation phase before signature
Some selected gate reviews and the sales hand-over meeting
Formation of consortium agreements
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, or similar qualification. Alternatively experience gained in large capital plant Project Management complemented by training.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial experience
Minimum of 3 years of Project Management experience

US Government experience
University degree in Business Administration, or equivalent commercial background
Background in contract law, claim management, etc

The salary range for this position is $116,250 – $193,750 (USD). The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
