**Job Description Summary**
The Lead Development Quality Assurance (DQA) Engineer is responsible for Design Controls & Risk Management as part of cross-functional teams working new product introductions. In this role, you will utilize an understanding of regulatory, industry, and internal requirements to conduct independent assessments of engineering compliance to ensure fulfillment of same as an individual contributor and as a project lead, coordinating the efforts of others; ensuring products are capable, robust, and meet all applicable requirements.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
Lead functional projects in coordination with cross-functional teams, coordinating the efforts/tasks of others to support objectives
Explain difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus; act as a resource for colleagues with less experience
Communicate effectively to explain difficult or sensitive information; utilize/develop persuasion skills to influence others and build consensus on topics within quality field
Ensure regulatory, procedural, and contractual requirements are fulfilled across program phases
Personal accountability through quality stamp authority for quality of outputs, products, and procedures
Perform audits to process and plans; ensure compliance to standards, procedures, and contractual requirements
Perform product and test (conformity) inspections for commercial & military programs
Perform qualification test witnessing and data/report reviews to ensure process conformity
Conduct and complete internal FAIs in accordance with AS9102 and internal procedures
Ensure Lessons Learned are shared across existing and new programs/proposals
Work for continuous improvement in processes and execution to support new product introduction
Monitor and process non-compliances and non-conformances as needed
Identify needs / causes, present analysis of research, develop and communicate potential resolutions
Deliver quality products as part of a cross functional team
**Required Qualifications**
U.S. Citizenship required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Quality Systems from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Quality or Engineering)
Additional 5 years of experience within a Quality or Engineering position
Ability and willingness to meet required travel expectations: ~25% beyond metro area
**Desired Characteristics**
Strong convictions regarding quality, safety, and processes; tempered with flexibility to meet needs without compromising requirements
Internal auditor experience
Experience with aerospace qualification testing; procedural compliance, verification of data
Proven communication skills across business levels in verbal and written formats
Ability to influence others; lead small teams and initiatives
Experience with industry standards AS9100, AS9102, and AS9145 (APQP)
Proven analytical and organizational ability
Experience with complex airborne electrical systems
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
Experience with aerospace regulations and standards pertaining to aviation product development specifically, 14 CFR Part 25, ARP4754A, DO-178C, and DO-254
Command of engineering development inputs, outputs, interdependencies, and business cases
Experience with generation and completion of First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102
Skilled in use of Discus, Nitro Pro, and/or Adobe Acrobat Pro
Skilled in use of standard Microsoft Office programs
