The various entry-level positions in the area of energy conservation and energy generation include positions like energy associate, energy engineer, geoscience engineer, hydraulics engineer, mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, engineering associate, engineering coordinator, energy analyst and energy specialist. Typically most entry-level positions engage in either functional or administrative work. Specific duties of entry-level positions may include visiting plants, handling technical problems, troubleshooting plant equipments and machineries, guiding and supervising workers, preparing training material, attending meetings and training sessions, and performing other tasks assigned by the supervisor. An entry-level professional typically reports to the junior manager.
An entry-level professional should have a bachelor's degree or an associate's degree in a relevant area. Excellent academic credentials are essential for most entry-level positions. Familiarity with MS Word and Excel may be essential for entry-level positions.
