The pool of trading positions in the area of energy generation and management include positions like energy trader, energy proprietary trading professional, energy trading attorney, electrical trading consultant, energy trading assistant and energy trading manager. An energy trading professional is responsible for buying and selling energy or power generation related securities and meet profitability goals in doing so. Specific duties of most energy trading positions include keeping updated on the ups and downs in the stock markets, keeping eye on various energy stocks, dealing with brokers, buying stocks available at competitive prices, selling the securities at the right time and performing other tasks as required.An energy trading professional should have an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree. Prior experience in energy trading may be advantageous. An energy trading professional is also expected to stay in constant touch with various stock markets.
